World War I poster with imagery by famed artist Howard Chandler Christy, whose stylized paintings of beautiful women became known as "Christy Girls." The poster shows a woman in a white gown raising the American flag while troops march forward in the background promoting the Third Liberty Loan.

"Christy Girls" are still known world-wide for their almost mysterious sensuality and emotive expressions. Their dreamy expressions enticed numerous young men to take up arms and enlist, and numerous Americans to empty their pockets to support the war effort.

Condition: Very Good

Rolled. Linen backed. Restoration addressed a large 1" border chip on the lower left. Also some other minor chips in the margins. Colors are especially vibrant and clear. Beautiful poster.
